Using the education production function as an organizing framework, students explore how family, neighborhoods, teachers, peers, and schools shape student achievement. Students engage closely with leading empirical research in the economics of education, with attention to research design, identification strategies, and the interpretation of causal effects. Prior coursework in econometrics and applied causal inference is expected.
