Applications are reviewed for both admissions decisions and scholarships.

Tuition

Tuition rates for the current academic year are detailed on the Office of the Bursar website. Tuition is subject to an estimated 3 to 5 percent increase from year to year.

For master’s students, the tuition rate is based on the number of classes taken each quarter. Evening Program students take 2.25 courses per term.

Students in the Evening Master’s Program are not assessed the student life fee.

Access to the libraries at the University of Chicago, the career services resources at Harris School of Public Policy, and any of the other services and facilities in the Harris building on the Hyde Park campus are included as part of your tuition.

Financial Aid

As a part-time student, you can qualify for financial aid as well as merit-based scholarships.

No separate application is required for merit-based scholarships; you only need to check the appropriate box on the Harris application for admission.

You will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)to apply for the Federal Education Loan Program (Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, and Federal Direct PLUS Loan). Alternative (Private) Loans can also be an option for some students.

The UChicago Student Loan Administration (SLA) outlines the application steps and provides other resources about graduate financial aid.
