You will need both to access many of the University of Chicago systems, and your UChicago email will be your primary method of communication with the university. These tools will be essential during your time here at Harris.CNet IDCreate your CNet IDTo claim your CNet ID, you will need your UChicago ID (UCID) number, which was provided to you by the Admissions staff, or your social security number.UChicago EmailYour UChicago email address will be automatically created after you have claimed your CNet ID. All students should use Outlook to manage their email. It is recommended that students do not use webmail or mail forwarding. You can access your email on your device by installing the Outlook app. iPhone and iPad users can also add their email directly to the Mail app.To add Outlook and access email on your personal devices:Step 1: Download the Outlook AppDownload Outlook for WindowsDownload Outlook for MacDownload from the App StoreDownload from Google PlayStep 2: Open the Outlook AppAfter installing, tap the Outlook app icon to launch it.Step 3: Add your UChicago Email AccountTap "Add Account."Enter your UChicago email address (e.g., "yourusername@uchicago.edu). Be sure that this is the email address associated with your CNET, and not an alias or departmental account. Once entered, tap "Continue"Enter your password when promptedIf directed, log in using your UChicago Microsoft account credentials. Follow any additional prompts, such as multi-factor authentication Step 4: Access Your EmailOnce logged in, you'll be able to access your inbox and calendar features.Check your email dailyStarting in June, Harris and the University will only communicate with you through your UChicago email.
