In addition to specializations offered directly by Harris, you can also take advantage of interdisciplinary certificate opportunities in other schools and departments at UChicago. 

Certificate in Computational Social Science

The Certificate in Computational Social Science is offered by the Division of the Social Sciences.

The four-course certificate is open to any University of Chicago graduate student. You will need to complete three core courses (Perspectives on Computational Analysis, Computational Modeling, Computational Research) and an additional course in computer programming. You will also need to participate in the Computational Social Science Workshop on an occasional basis.

Certificate in Education and Society

The Committee on Education offers an opportunity for Harris students to pursue a certificate in Education and Society. Students who complete the Education and Society certificate program undertake a program of study comprised of four graduate courses in addition to fulfilling the requirements of the Master’s program in which they are enrolled. For more information on certificate requirements and how to apply contact the Commitee on Education. 

Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy (GPHAP)

In a unique program in partnership with the Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, Graduate Program in Health Administration and Policy (GPHAP), Harris students have the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Health Administration and Policy as part of their public policy degree from Harris. GPHAP offers two tracks for accepted students: the U.S.Health Track and the Global Health Track.
