Chicago Principles, Policy, and Perspectives (CP3) offers Harris students a shared co-curricular experience that brings the University’s commitment to free expression and civil discourse into active practice. Through a yearlong series of events and discussions, students strengthen their ability to engage respectfully, think critically, and lead with analytical rigor.

Starting at orientation and continuing throughout the year opportunities exist for students to:

  • Develop the practices and skillsets of effective civil discourse
  • Recognize and respect the Chicago Principles and their role in obtaining a Harris education
  • Engage in critical discourse and analytical discussion on complex policy questions
  • Broaden their appreciation for, experience with, and understanding of the multiplicity of viewpoints across identities and experiences
