Student Recruitment and Global Outreach at the Faculty & Staff Holiday Party

Happy Holidays from the Student Recruitment and Global Outreach (SRGO) team at Harris! We wanted to share with you some of our favorite ways to celebrate winter in Chicago.

CTA Holiday Train

Riyanna Coleman— “I really enjoy riding the CTA holiday train, or walking down State Street and seeing the Macy’s window displays. The Thompson Center has various vendors that sell seasonal knick-knacks that make great gifts and souvenirs!”

Sparkle Dalphinis— “I like checking out the lights at Lincoln Park Zoo and visiting the Winter Wonderfest at Navy Pier. My kids' eyes light up when they see all the beautiful lights and decorations.”

Blake Edwards—“I enjoy riding in the Toys for Tots Motorcycle Parade— a charity event that collects toys for less fortunate children. I’ve been riding since 2006.”

Shilin Liu—“I like making hot pot at home with family and friends.”

Samantha Ng“I like to warm up with a bowl of ramen or eat hot pot with a group of friends. My favorites are Ramen Takeya in Fulton Market and Happy Lamb Hot Pot in Chinatown.”

Nathan Robbins—“I like to host friends and family for food and games. I also enjoy sitting at my fireplace with a good beer and a better book.”

Samantha Schmidt – “A few years ago, I tried ice skating for the first time— turns out my childhood rollerblading skills were directly transferrable. There’s free skating every year at Millennium Park and I’ve been meaning to check it out.”

Andy Wolanski—“One of my favorite things is taking a stroll through the Lincoln Park Zoo lights. It really feels like the holiday season as you walk around looking at the holiday lights sipping hot cocoa.”
