Policy Analysis

Harris Policy Labs is an intensive experiential learning initiative in which teams of second-year graduate students work under faculty supervision to apply their rigorous Harris education to help client organizations resolve real-world public policy challenges.

Led by Professor Robert Goerge, this Lab focuses on social policy including education, health and labor.

  • Students can participate in projects related to workforce policy in the hotel industry, analyzing patient care, reducing violence, and statewide data collection strategies for substance abuse programs.
  • Clients include: Oxfam America and UChicago Medicine.

Students will receive one letter grade and 100 units of course credit (one full course) upon completion of each one-quarter Policy Lab.

Important Note: In addition to registering, students need to complete the Project Preference Form by November 27, 2017 to request your preferred project. The form can be submitted even if you have not registered for classes.

Individual Policy Lab projects in this Lab may be eligible for certificate requirements. If you are pursuing a certificate, please check that certificate’s website for details on requirements.
