We hope you and those close to you are safe and doing well. In a recent post, we rounded up Harris Career Outcomes Resources including the recently launched 2020 Career Outcomes Report. Over the past few weeks we’ve held numerous virtual events, and some of our most well-attended and interactive ones featured our incredible colleagues in the Career Development Office (CDO). Check out the recordings below:

Watch the webinar: Career Development and Job Opportunities (55 min.)
Watch the webinar: Career Coaching 101 (56 min.)

Many of you have expressed an interest in engaging with CDO as soon as possible, wondering how to make your LinkedIn profile pop; asking about opportunities in specific sectors and locations; and looking for guidance on what you can do over the next few months to be ready to hit the ground running before starting at Harris. In response, our teams have collaborated to make sure you have access to additional resources.

If you are an admitted student, you will gain access to HarrisLink—and its attendant resources— when you submit your admission reply form. Email the Career Development Office with any questions about accessing this toolkit.

HarrisLink is your hub for engaging with the Career Development Office (CDO) before, during, and after your academic program at Harris. You can use HarrisLink to review job and internship postings to start identifying employers and roles that may be a fit, view and virtually attend employer events at Harris in the Spring Quarter to research potential target organizations, and you’ll also gain access to the following platforms:

  • VMock, an online platform that uses sophisticated algorithms and data science along with machine learning and artificial intelligence to provide personalized resume feedback.
  • Interstride, an online platform for International careers and career planning.
  • DevEX, the largest provider of recruiting and business development services for global development
  • Vault, an online platform that provides in-depth intelligence on what it's really like to work in an industry, company or profession: Search current jobs and internships, research a company or industry, get the inside scoop on what it’s really like, and find the career advice you need to launch your career.
  • Career Development “Seal the Deal” and “Getting Noticed” career readiness packets
  • Weekly CDO newsletters featuring jobs and events

Although global situations may be evolving rapidly, successful communities pull together and make things happen. That’s who we are at Harris, and we’re excited to welcome you here this fall.
