Our team traveled over 22,000 miles this fall to visit prospective students across the country. Whether you came to a graduate school fair, met us for coffee before work, or mingled with our alumni at a reception, we so enjoyed getting to know our applicants on the road. Read on to hear our staff's highlights!

“I loved being back in DC visiting George Washington University, my alma mater, and meeting with current students who are interested in pursuing a public policy degree at Harris. It was great to see how much campus has changed, but also visiting my favorite spots, like the GW Deli!”

"I had a really productive travel season! I loved attending two Service Academy Career Fairs (one in San Diego and one in San Antonio) and meeting with prospective students who want to expand on their service careers by earning a degree in public policy. I also really enjoyed traveling to multiple universities in Illinois and chatting with student organizations and faculty members about Harris. I’m very excited to review the applications of the wonderful and inspiring people I met as I traveled around the country!"

"It was so great to be back home on the East Coast this fall.  I really enjoyed meeting with so many smart, thoughtful, and committed prospective students in New York and Boston.  I can't wait for you all to come visit us at Harris and fall in love with Chicago like I have."

"In October, I traveled to San Francisco for the first time, where I met some fantastic prospective students and alumni who are doing really impactful work in the Bay Area. In the spare moments when I wasn’t getting to know prospective students, I soaked up a sunny Sunday afternoon in Mission Dolores Park, found some UChicago faculty names on the shelves at City Lights Bookstore – and of course, I had to take a photo at the Golden Gate Bridge.

I was also thrilled to return to Mexico City in November! I traveled to CDMX for the first time last fall, and it was great to go back and reconnect with some friends who are Harris alumni. In addition to meeting great prospective students at coffee chats, university info sessions and more, I ate some of the best tacos of my life at Molino El Pujol, and I also found time to explore some of the city’s history at the Castillo de Chapultapec."

-Alyssa Szynal, Associate Director of Recruitment Operations and Analytics

“It was a delight to meet with eager applicants across the Southeast who are looking to pursue a path in policy. I’m looking forward to reviewing your application materials, and hope to see some of you in Chicago for a campus visit! A highlight of my travel was eating at one of the famous Torchy’s Tacos in Austin!”
