Policy Analysis

The goal of this course is to introduce students to program evaluation and provide an overview of current issues and methods in impact evaluation. We will focus on estimating the causal impacts of programs and policy using social experiments, panel data methods, instrumental variables, regression discontinuity designs, and matching techniques. We will discuss applications and examples from the fields of education, demography, health, crime, job training, and others. Prerequisites: PP31001 and PP31101 or equivalent statistics coursework.


Prerequisites: PPHA 31001 and PPHA 31101 or equivalent coursework in statistics.
