Economic Analysis I: Microeconomics is a policy-oriented introduction to microeconomics. The core learning goals of the course are to: (1) articulate the strengths and shortcomings of markets as a way to allocate goods and services; (2) think critically about incentives and how consumers and firms might respond to incentives in practice; (3) apply micro-economic thinking to policy questions; and (4) analyze potential rationales for government intervention into markets. The course achieves these goals through the study of economic models and discussion of examples of how these models might apply to economic policy problems.
