Many Harris students bring years of work experience to our community, as well as partners and families. Balancing the return to school with family responsibilities can sometimes be daunting, so in this blog, we share some resources for students with partners and families as they plan the transition to Harris. 

Housing

Check out the UChicago Grad Housing Information site.There is also a helpful graphic that shows where most of our students live. 

Transportation 

As you’re thinking about where you want to live, you can read more about how to get around the city and the University Shuttles that are available for your use. The CTA bus 171 and 172 are free upon displaying a University ID.

Wellness Resources

The UChicago Student Wellness website includes updates on vaccinations in the community.

International Resources

International students should make sure to frequently visit the website for the Office of International Affairs, and there is also a section on their website for spouses and partners.

Fitness

In a recent session, a few students asked about fitness in Chicago, so we wanted to share this recent article discussing the different gyms in Chicago. There were some students specifically interested in mixed martial arts, and you may find the information on this website helpful. Many students ask about about enrolling their children in school, and we hear you loud and clear—as Admissions folks and also as parents. We plan to schedule an information session once we get more information from local school districts about their plans for fall. We will share that information on this blog as well.
