March 29, 2023 Connecting with current students is an important part of making your graduate school decision. From a short conversation or a few emails, you can learn more about where to live, what to expect from classes, internship opportunities, and life outside of the classroom. If you are an admitted student and haven’t had a chance to connect with a current student, our Peer Mentor program may be helpful. In brief: The program is an opportunity for admitted students who have not been able to engage with current students to connect directly with a student in a time and manner that is convenient for them. This can be especially helpful for folks balancing demanding working schedules or living abroad. Our Peer Mentors will reach out to admitted students proactively, but if you’re an admitted student and you’d like to be connected, complete this form. Once you connect with a Peer Mentor, they will be in touch regularly to answer any questions that arise as you are making your graduate school decision. If you aren’t yet admitted to Harris, but eager to gather more information, complete this form and we’ll connect you with a student. You can also hear from current students throughout the admission process in a variety of ways: Attend virtual student panels, or watch a previously recorded panel discussion Current Student Panel—for admitted students Student Panel for Submitted Applicants—for students who have submitted an application Visit campus, which includes sitting in on a class, meeting with a member of the admissions team, and having coffee with a current student Check your email regularly for exclusive admitted student opportunities, and watch the recordings from our March Virtual Admitted Student Week If you have any questions about getting connected, email harrisadmission@uchicago.edu.
