We host Diversity Day each year for talented underrepresented individuals to get to know the Harris School of Public Policy and its community. This fall, students participated in the first Diversity Day hosted in The Keller Center. You can read a full recap here.

Hana Passen, MSCAPP 2021, spoke on the student panel. Below, she reflects on the experience:

Participating on the student panel was great. All of the panelists brought something unique to the conversation, be it through their educational, work history, goals, or life experiences. When the panel discussed plans after Harris, some hoped to pursue further research in PhD programs, some planned to enter the private sector, and some anticipated entering local government: the breadth of perspectives and goals definitely enhanced the conversation.

I hope this year's Diversity Day attendees were able to see parts of their experiences reflected in ours and feel confident they'll be welcomed and supported as Harris students. The people I connected with at the happy hour were thoughtful, talented, and could all contribute to the Harris community—I hope to see them here next year!
