If you are an incoming student starting at Harris in the fall, the Career Development Office (CDO) shared some frequently asked questions that will help you as you begin your career coaching.

When I can I meet with CDO?

Incoming candidates will have the ability to book appointments with coaches through HarrisLink starting September 1.

What is HarrisLink?

HarrisLink is our central resource for booking appointments with coaches, searching/applying for jobs, finding career resources, and RSVPs to CDO and employer sponsored events.

How can I connect with CDO immediately to learn about great opportunities?

Set up your search profile on HarrisLink, update it regularly as your interests develop, and follow us on social media: Facebook/Twitter/#HireHarris Slack Channel

Who is my coach?

We all are! Learn more about us here and book a time to meet with any coach on HarrisLink.

Why can't I apply for jobs or upload my resume on HarrisLink?

Be sure to complete the Pathways process* outlined in your HarrisLink welcome email (arriving July 1) and CDO module on Canvas to ensure your document box is unlocked, enabling you to upload your resume and apply for jobs instantly. ***Once you complete the Pathway, you may have to log out and re-log in to start applying or make appointments.

Does CDO place me in an internship?

CDO is not a placement office. Instead, CDO collaborates with candidates to develop a personalized strategy for securing an internship or full-time position.

CDO has two teams dedicated to supporting each candidates' career journey through Career Coaching and Employer Relations. Career Coaches work with candidates to develop successful strategies to navigate the hiring process and secure an offer. CDO Employer Partnerships professionals are dedicated to engaging employers and promoting the Harris candidate to gain a competitive advantage in the hiring process.

Internships and full-time roles found on HarrisLink are curated and posted by our Employer Partnerships and Career Coaching teams.
