This course examines how exchange rates and capital flows affect macroeconomic stability, how policymakers seek to achieve internal and external balance, and how international institutions help prevent and manage financial crises, address sovereign debt problems, and facilitate policy coordination. Students will learn how policymakers navigate difficult policy trade-offs in an increasingly interconnected global economy. Notes Attendance at discussion sessions is required for this course.
