Spatial Data Analytics provides students with practical skills for working with spatial data in Python. The course covers methods for acquiring, cleaning, visualizing, and analyzing geospatial data, with an emphasis on empirical applications in public policy. Through lectures, hands-on programming assignments, and real-world case studies, students will learn how to answer policy-relevant questions involving topics such as transportation, housing, environmental justice, urban development, and local economic activity. As a culminating project, students will complete a term paper that applies the analytical tools introduced in the course to a policy-related research question. 

Notes

Students must complete PPHA 30537 or PPHA 49901 and PPHA 30538 or PPHA 49902, or equivalent coursework to enroll.
