June & July 2022 Pre-Enrollment Checklist Items See details below for: Applying for a Grad PLUS Loan Accessing your UChicago email and network ID Submitting transcripts Completing the math self-assessment Connecting with your Polis Learning through Online Orientation Modules Accessing Dataquest June 1, 2022: Complete Grad PLUS Loan Application Domestic and Permanent Residents Only Students can begin applying for the Graduate PLUS Loans in June. A credit-check (valid for 180 days) is required for the Graduate PLUS. Please make sure that you complete the additional Graduate PLUS Master Note (MPN) can both be completed at https://studentloans.gov/. For additional information, please refer to UChicago Financial Aid website. June 1, 2022: Deadline for Submitting Your Transcript Please note: We understand some incoming students are having challenges obtaining official transcripts. We have flexibility with the June 1 deadline for students not currently enrolled in a degree program or who graduated prior to June 1, 2019. If you are not currently enrolled in a degree program and have your most recent degree conferral on your transcript, please follow this process to submit your official transcript if you haven't already done so. June 1, 2022: Deadline to Claim Your UChicago Email and CNetID All Students Claim your UChicago email and network ID as soon as possible. You will need it to access many of the UChicago systems on this checklist. Starting June 1, 2022 all official Harris and University communications will be sent to your UChicago email. You are responsible for reading all email correspondence. Note: To claim your UChicago email and network ID, you will need your UChicago ID number, which is an 8 digit number starting with "12." You should have received an email after you paid your deposit providing you with your UCID number. If you do not know your UCID number, please email Admissions, and they will look it up for you. Week of June 6, 2022: Polis Kick-Off Meetings Meet your Orientation Leader and start building your network of future policy leaders in your Polis. June 6th, 2022: Deadline to complete Math Self-Assessment All Master's Students (Except MACRM) Complete the math self-assessment as soon as possible to help you decide whether to attend Math & Coding Camp. June 30, 2022: Deadline for Federal Financial Aid Domestic and Permanent Residents Only The UChicago Financial Aid provides details about completing your FAFSA and other steps you need to follow to apply federal financial aid. Read more about your financial aid options. (PhD/MACRM students are required to participate in the Mathematical Methods Program.) July 1, 2022: New Student Orientation Modules Access the new student orientation modules, which include a wealth of information for new students. July 11, 2022: Access Dataquest Access the coding platform, Dataquest, to start building your skills in Stata and R. All incoming students receive eight months of free, premium access to Dataquest through Harris. Week of July 12. 2022: Mid-Summer Polis Meeting Reconnect with your Polis and start getting ready for everything orientation! July 31, 2022: Deadline for Submitting Your Transcript Students Graduating After June 1, 2022 If you are currently attending a college or university and are expecting your degree to be conferred this year, you should submit official transcripts by following these steps.
