Vaccinating the World: A Conversation with Michael Kremer

Join Harris Public Policy Dean and Emmett Dedmon Professor Katherine Baicker for a conversation with Nobel-Prize winning economist and Harris faculty member Michael Kremer on policies to accelerate vaccine development and availability and lessons learned from COVID-19.

A pioneer in development economics, Professor Kremer has shaped the discipline through the use of field experiments to inform economic models, policy, and program development. Among his contributions, Kremer has developed and explored advanced market commitments (AMC) in vaccine development to stimulate private investment and speed vaccine distribution in the developing world. His recent research examines education and health in developing countries, immigration, and globalization.

Kremer joined the University of Chicago faculty earlier this year as University Professor in Economics, the College and Harris. Kremer also directs the Development Innovation Lab at the Becker Friedman Institute.
