From The Times November 08, 2019 Rhys Blakely Harris Public Policy Professor Oeindrila DubeHarris Public Policy Professor Oeindrila Dube was featured in The Times, discussing the ways in which female leadership historically affected war and peace among European states. "Broadly speaking, our findings suggest that there may be systematic differences in war policy based on a ruler's gender, if male and female leaders continue organizing their rules differently, for example, in who they recruit into their governments, and who they enlist to play supportive roles," writes Dube in her paper. "The marital interactions we uncover for Europe historically also suggest that the largest gender-based effects today may arise in weekly institutionalized settings, where families continue to play a role in solving the challenge of who to trust in leading."
