The research was central to a recent report released by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) that urged the Trump administration to take action on climate change. The report was attacked by the U.S. House Science, Space and Technology Committee Chairman Lamar Smith (R-TX) who questioned the research on the grounds it was not peer reviewed when it had in fact been peer reviewed twice.
