Faculty Excellence
The Harris faculty’s dedication to advancing public policy was recognized in extraordinary ways this year. A highlight? James Robinson, the Reverend Dr. Richard L. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict Studies and Institute Director of The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts, was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economics, sparking conversations about his groundbreaking work explaining global inequality. Ethan Bueno de Mesquita, Sydney Stein Professor, was named Dean of the Harris School of Public Policy in April. 

Finally, Steven N. Durlauf was named the Frank P. Hixon Distinguished Service Professor in July and celebrated the first anniversary of the Stone Center for Research on Wealth Inequality and Mobility at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, where he is the director.
