In a story citing political science literature suggesting that the number of shark attacks in an election year correlates to affected communities voting against incumbents, Prof. Anthony Fowler was called upon to comment: 

"It's a strange debate to be involved in," said Anthony Fowler, a political science professor at the University of Chicago, who's coauthored critiques on the 'shark-attack theory.' "There's a cottage industry of studies. There's a bunch of studies like this."
