Professor Ariel Kalil Discusses Why Minutes Spent Parenting Matter

Harris Public Policy Professor Ariel Kalil was featured in The New York Times, discussing the results of research done by the Behavioral Insights and Parenting (BIP) Lab that Dr. Klass, the article's writer, distinguishes as "an influential study of parent time use which showed that differences across the socioeconomic spectrum have increased over time."

"If you really look in time diary data, on average parents are not spending hours a day doing these kinds of developmentally stimulating things with their kids," said Kalil.
