CMF Executive Director Mike Belsky Discusses the Illinois Tax Debate

Center for Municipal Finance (CMF) Executive Director Michael Belsky was featured in Crain's Chicago Business, authoring an opinion piece which emphasized the importance of understanding Governor Pritzker's tax plan before attempting to critique it.

"[The Illinois Policy Institute's] major assertion is that the state may have assumed what they call a static model where there is no change in economic behavior as a consequence of changing tax rates," wrote Belsky. "This sort of narrative continues to put our state in a negative light on a national basis and fosters the partisan bickering we have seen over the past four years."
