Professor Chris Blattman Discusses Grade Change Request Policies

Harris Public Policy Professor Chris Blattman was featured in Inside Higher Ed, discussing the ideal role of institutional involvement in student grade change requests. He does so in the context of a Clemson University English department document which professors are encouraged to use when students ask for an overall regrade at the end of a course. 

"It sounds to me like they are encouraging a conversation to happen, but recognize that sometimes that conversation has to end with the instructor simply saying that they followed common criteria for the entire class," Blattman said. "[Most regrade requests] are really chances to clarify the grade in terms of the student's relative performance."
