The Effect of Medicaid on Spending, Health, and Well-Being Mon., November 13, 2017 | 5:30 PM — 8:00 PM River Roast Murdoch Room 315 N. LaSalle St. Chicago, IL 60654 United States RSVP today! With the future of Medicaid and public health insurance subsidies in flux, gauging the effects of public insurance on health care spending, financial security, and physical and mental health is crucial. Such effects are notoriously hard to assess, however, because there are many differences between uninsured and insured populations that may affect health. Harris Public Policy Dean Katherine Baicker and colleagues used a rare opportunity in Oregon to conduct a randomized, controlled evaluation of the effects of Medicaid on a wide range of outcomes. Dean Baicker will present recent findings from this and other studies to shed light on the likely effects of changes in health policy. The evening will conclude with a reception where attendees can continue the conversation. A complimentary shuttle to the event will depart from Harris (1155 E. 60th Street) at 5:10 pm. A return shuttle will not be provided. Schedule of Activities Doors Open: 5:30 pmProgram: 6 – 7 pmReception: 7 – 8 pm Kindly RSVP by November 9.
