Christopher Blattman, Ramalee E. Pearson Professor of Global Conflict Studies in The Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts, shares insights from his research into whether or not sweatshops can help to lift workers out of poverty. Many economists believe they do. However, he concludes that industrialization is not a quick fix.
