The emergence of machine learning and neural networks is fundamentally reshaping the online battlefield between malicious parties and security practitioners. As machine learning techniques evolve, so do the tools used by attackers and defenders to impersonate others, track users, and forge content. Ben Zhao will discuss recent research on this topic, examining the possible impacts of machine learning innovations—including so-called supervised learning and deep learning—in the not-too-distant future.
