In a piece about the field of candidates running for Chicago's first elected school board, Harris Professor Christopher Berry was called upon as an expert source to discuss a large number of objections to candidates' eligibility. 

My guess is that there’s some organized political entity behind this,” Berry said. “I wasn’t really expecting it in the school board election because we tend to think of this as low stakes — it doesn’t feel like something your ordinary sort of inexperienced, novice school board candidate is doing on their own.

Christopher R. Berry is the William J. and Alicia Townsend Friedman Professor at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and the College. He is the academic director of the Center for Municipal Finance. He studies metropolitan governance and the politics of public finance.
