Prof. William Howell Quoted in the Los Angeles Times April 15, 2024 William Howell, Sydney Stein Professor of Politics at Harris Public Policy and co-author of Presidents, Populism, and the Crisis of Democracy, was quoted in a piece by the Los Angeles Times entitled "Trump’s trial is about more than sex and money. It’s about what presidents ‘can get away with’" How this trial and [his] other trials play out will have enduring consequences. The cases, will shape not just what future presidents will do but whether or not they’ll get away with it. It’s absolutely fundamental to democracy. He currently is working on research projects on Obama's education initiatives, distributive politics, and the normative foundations of executive power.
