Summer Internship Fund Program Frequently Asked Questions Summer Internship Award Eligibility and Process Student Eligibility RequirementsThe internship funding application is available to students in Harris master’s programs that meet the following requirements:You are currently enrolled full-time, and will be continuing your full-time enrollment until or through December 2024, in one of the following Harris master’s programs: MPP, MSCAPP, or MACRM.You have a confirmed qualifying internship offer letter at the time of submitting an application. See below for qualifying internship information.Organization Eligibility RequirementsEligible:Nonprofit organizationPublic sector organizationIneligible:For-profit / private sector organizationPrivate sector start-up organizationSelf-employmentIf you are unsure about your internship sector, please email the Career Development Office (CDO) at Harriscdo@uchicago.edu.Internship Offer RequirementsTo ensure all requirements are met, we have designed an Internship Offer PDF Generator that the hiring manager can use to draft a complete offer.If the organization’s HR policies require the hiring manager to draft their own letter, ensure that it has all of the following details:Hiring Manager name, email, and job titleOrganization name and department/unit name (if applicable)Organization addressThe offer letter must be addressed to you/your nameOrganization sector (Public or Non-Profit)Modality (In-Person, Hybrid, or Remote)Internship start and end dates Must take place between June and October 2024Total internship hours* Full-time is defined as at least 320 hours over the course of the summer. For example, both an 8-week internship requiring 40 hours per week, and a 10-week internship requiring 32 or more hours per week, would qualify for funding. Internships requiring more than 320 hours will not receive additional funding.Supervision cadence totaling at least four hours over the course of the internship.
