He is responsible for the delivery of IT services to the Harris School faculty, staff, and students. He also led initiatives to merge and consolidate systems between business units around the globe, including acquired companies. Bevis began his career at NORC, where he worked on several groundbreaking studies, including the National Longitudinal Survey and the General Social Survey, which are both reference points for policy makers of broad areas of interest. Bevis holds a BA from Whittier College in English, with a minor in history. He has dabbled toward a graduate degree in urban studies (and sometimes wishes he had done more than dabble). He has substantial coursework in computer languages, systems engineering, and database design and management.
