Professor William Howell Discusses Different Perceptions of the January 6th Insurrection

Harris Public Policy Professor William Howell was featured on the latest episode of the Rick Sanchez News podcast entitled, "Why Latinos See Trump's 'Coup' as Very American". Professor Howell joins Rick Sanchez to discuss the similarities between Trump's January 6th coup and insurgencies attempted within Latin America by the U.S. Professor Howell elaborates on how these patterns are demonstrated in a variety of other current political issues as well. 

"I think we're long overdue to step back from the local crisis," said Professor Howell. "Be it Kavanaugh's appointment to the Supreme Court who then behaves in ways that are antithetical to the claims he made in his nomination, or the January 6th insurrection, it's time we think anew about the design of our institutions and how we might reform them."
