Laura Carroll

Laura Carroll is the TA Program Director at the Harris School of Public Policy, where she directs a program that annually hires and trains over 400 graduate students. This program is dedicated to providing excellence and professionalism in curricular support, including teaching, grading/feedback, team management, and administration for Harris instructors and students. 

Laura brings a wealth of experience in educational leadership, classroom instruction (including International Baccalaureate programs), and workshop development. She is a certified professional coach and facilitator with over 10 years of experience in leadership, team performance, communication, and emotional and conversational intelligence. A lifelong learner, she continually explores these fields to deepen her understanding and stay current with best practices. 

Additionally, Laura is a master-level sign language interpreter, having earned her degree in Sign Language Interpreting in 2004. She worked with the Chicago community for over ten years. Laura also holds an advanced master’s degree in American Studies from the University of Ghent, Belgium, and has lived, taught, and worked internationally for many years.
