Ethics in Data Analysis and Policy Mon., January 13, 2020 | 6:00 PM — 8:00 PM Quadrangle Club 1155 East 57th Street Chicago, IL 60637 United States Sponsored By: Harris Mentor Program Data analytical methods are wonderful tools for policy practitioners to gain a rigorous understanding of the world we live in. These methods however bring new ethical questions to those who accumulate and analyze the data: questions around privacy, representation, bias and good faith, responsibility to interested and affected populations, and fairness. Mentors will discuss how to approach data collection and analysis with the same rigor in their ethics as in the data methods. The event will feature; Moderator: Arnie Aronoff, Ph.D., Lecturer, University of Chicago Jillian Bernas; Manager of External Affairs; Valdes Engineering Company Jason Horwitz; Deputy Director, Policy Development, Planning, and Research; Illinois Department of Commerce Carrianne Carallis; Deputy Budget Director, Office of Budget and Management; City of Chicago Additional Panelists Pending RSVP and attendance will count for 6 professional development credits as well as Mentor Program participation towards the Leadership Credential. Panelists and attendees may be subject to addition and change. RSVP Here.
