Professor James Heckman Discusses Economic Benefits of Family Support Programs

Harris Public Policy Professor James Heckman was featured in the Pittsburgh Jewish Chronicle, discussing the benefit of programs that offer early interventions to children and families. 

"An American economist, James Heckman, has shown the economic benefit of these programs, that for every dollar you invest you save about $17 in terms of teen pregnancy and incarceration," said pediatrician Michael Zilibowitz. "People who go through these programs have higher grades, get better jobs, pay more taxes."
