Professor Bruce Meyer Critiques Financial Regulation Research

Harris Public Policy Professor Bruce Meyer was featured in Politico critiquing the statistical methods used by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau to determine whether class action lawsuits against credit card companies raise prices for consumers. 

"There is weak evidence that says more than likely there is a positive effect on the cost of credit, but the accepted approach is you don’t crow about something unless you have stronger evidence.”
