Dean Katherine Baicker Discusses Health Insurance Coverage Rates

Harris Public Policy Dean Katherine Baicker was featured in The New York Times, commenting on a working paper published by three Treasury Department economics who found that an informational letter from the Internal Revenue Service about health insurance saved around 700 lives.

"It's an innovation to know that just sending a letter to people with information about what it means to be insured versus uninsured can substantially change coverage rates," said Baicker. "That is really important, new information."
