Rohingya Crisis Thu., February 01, 2018 | 12:00 PM — 1:15 PM Harris Public Policy 1155 E. 60th St Lecture Hall 142 Chicago, IL 60637 United States Please join student group co-hosts the Committee on Muslims and Public Policy (CMPP) and Global Affairs and Public Policy (GAPP) for a discussion with Dr. Azeem Ibrahim, author of The Rohingyas: Inside Myanmar's Hidden Genocide. Dr. Ibrahim is a Research Professor at the Strategic Studies Institute, US Army War College and a Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Policy. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has served as an International Security Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School. He was previously a lecturer at Harris Public Policy. This event is co-sponsored by The Pearson Institute and Harris Policy Labs, who have partnered this quarter to offer the inaugural Policy Lab on Global Conflict. Led by Professor Austin Wright, one of the teams in this Policy Lab is using innovative data-driven techniques to better understand and influence human rights outcomes. By analyzing and cross-validating unique satellite imagery, the students hope to demonstrate the scale of Rohingya displacement and improve humanitarian response capabilities in the region.
