Perspectives in Philanthropy: Journalism, Media, and Justice

On Tuesday, April 6, join us for the second session in our Perspectives in Philanthropy event series, which will address an issue of deep concern to philanthropy: the changing landscape of one of the country’s bedrock institutions: independent journalism and media.

In this session, cosponsored by Harris School of Public Policy Alumni Relations & Development, Stasch will be joined by Kathy Im, MPP '97, director of the journalism and media program at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, one of the country’s most active funders in the area, and Tiffany Walden, multimedia journalist and co-founder and editor-in-chief of The TRiiBE, a digital media platform for Black millennials in Chicago. The conversation will explore the role of independent news, accurate and reliable information, and voice and visibility in a vibrant and responsive democracy.
