In this capacity, Samantha collaborates closely with departmental leaders to ensure compliance with HR policies and develop effective onboarding and training programs that meet the unique needs of the school. She is dedicated to fostering a positive workplace culture, working alongside her team to deliver engaging orientations, coordinate staff events, and drive employee engagement initiatives that support Harris's strategic goals. Samantha's HR journey began as a Student Assistant in the Communicative Sciences and Disorders Department at Michigan State University, where she collaborated with administrative staff and faculty to plan and execute various departmental events and support academic processes. Following her graduation, she joined Maxim Healthcare Services as a Field Support Associate, where she honed her skills in onboarding and payroll management, focusing on supporting caregivers in the field. She then transitioned to the University’s Shared Services Office as an HR Student Employment Specialist, where she gained valuable experience with Workday, the University's human resources information system (HRIS). This role deepened her expertise in HR processes and systems management, equipping her with the technical and operational knowledge required to excel in her current position. A 2019 graduate of Michigan State University, Samantha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Leadership of Organizations. Her academic background provided her with a strong foundation in human resources principles, leadership practices, and teamwork dynamics. These skills have been instrumental in her success as an HR professional, allowing her to apply evidence-based approaches to a variety of focus areas.
