Masterclass with Dr. Rebecca Wolfe

We are pleased to present the first Masterclass of 2025 with Dr. Rebecca J. Wolfe on Thursday, January 23, from 5–6 p.m. CST (UTC-6). In this Masterclass session, Dr. Wolfe will discuss behavioral theories in program design—and how to best understand if they work—particularly when programs have multiple elements. She will frame this Masterclass with examples, insights, and outcomes from her recent work, "Unbundling Peacebuilding: How Mediation and Community Dialogues Help to Prevent and Manage Violent Conflict in North Central Nigeria.”



Dr. Rebecca J. Wolfe is a leading expert on political violence, conflict, and violent extremism. She is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, where she also is an associate at the Pearson Institute for the Study and Resolution of Global Conflicts. She has led research and program development related to conflict and fragility at Mercy Corps and is able to draw on her extensive practitioner and academic backgrounds to effectively research important development issues, design interventions that are theoretically grounded and evidence based, and communicate both to multiple audiences. Over her career, she has developed conflict prevention and violence reduction programs in Kenya, Nigeria, Yemen, Iraq, Syria, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and Tajikistan.
