Center for Data Science & Public Policy Director and Senior Fellow at the Harris School of Public Policy and the Computation Institute Rayid Ghani was featured in The Inquirer, discussing how cities can decrease the presence of bias in their models for decision-making.

Municipal prioritization of efficiency "sometimes leads to disproportionate impact for different types of people," Ghani said. He noted that governments increasingly rely on web-based algorithms and introduced Aequitas, an open souce bias audit toolkit which was developed by Ghani and other researchers at the Center for Data Science and Public Policy.
