Professor Ariel Kalil Discusses Home Reading Benefits of Text Reminders

Harris Public Policy Professor Ariel Kalil was featured on the front page of USA Today, discussing the successes of Parents and Children Together (PACT), which is the signature study of her Behavioral Insights and Parenting Lab at the University of Chicago. 

"We reduced chronic absenteeism by 20% over an 18-week period," said Kalil, referring to a program which sent parents text messages about what their child or children would miss if they chose not to attend their Head Start program.
