About

Michelle Park Michelini is the Executive Director for the University of Chicago, Behavioral Insights & Parenting Lab (BIP Lab) at the Harris School of Public Policy. The BIP Lab is an applied research center at the intersection of behavioral science, education, and family engagement that conducts rigorous field experiments, program evaluations, and surveys through research-practice partnerships. Michelle provides development, operational, strategic, and intellectual oversight of the center’s research portfolio and dissemination of the BIP Lab’s work. She also regularly engages with policy and industry leaders. She has participated on the Early Childhood Research Alliance of Chicago (EC*REACH) Task Force, the XPRIZE Learning & Society Brain Trust, is a Behavioral Scientist contributor, and is a part of MIT Solve’s community of winning team leads for the work she has led on the BIP Lab’s Chat2Learn program.

Michelle has expertise in designing, evaluating, and scaling evidence-based programs through cross-sector partnerships and community engagement and has deep knowledge of the American PreK-12 education policy and family and child policy contexts. She has previously led research initiatives and data analytics in the service of education program improvements for Chicago Public Schools and for other education clients. Michelle is passionate about catalyzing collective behavior and systems change to advance equality of opportunity in human capital development.

Michelle has her BS in social policy and education from Northwestern University and an MPP from the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
