Students are provided with a partial meal plan. The partial meal plan includes group lunches (as seen in the program schedule) and Maroon Dollars for on-campus dinning. Maroon Dollars allow students to use their University IDs like a debit card at any dining hall and most cafés and markets on campus. This partial meal plan supports students to visit the local, delicious restaurants in the city.

The Reynolds Club is the University’s primary student center and the hub of student life. It is home to Hutchinson Commons, a food facility serving a variety of food options, including pizza, burritos, Indian cuisine, sandwiches, sushi, and more. You can visit their website to learn more about The Reynolds Club.

Gerald Ratner Athletics Center

Students can enjoy a morning, evening or weekend workout or basketball game at the Ratner Athletics Center. The air-conditioned, 150,000 square-foot facility features the 50-meter x 25-yard Myers- McLoraine Swimming Pool; the Bernard DelGiorno Fitness Center with cardiovascular exercise equipment, weightlifting machines, free weights; and a multipurpose dance studio.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park, home to the University of Chicago, is a diverse, historic neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. It is located approximately seven miles from downtown Chicago, with Lake Michigan’s waterfront to the east, Washington Park to the west, Kenwood to the north, and Woodlawn to the south.

“Hyde Park is one of the most diverse parts of Chicago, an area where President Obama raised his family and started his political career. It's a community that welcomes and embraces outsiders and people from around the world who are united in a mission to make a difference and who want to learn from each other.”
– Ranjan Daniels, Senior Associate Dean of Student Recruitment and Global Outreach
