About

Marquis' current role in Harris is Assistant Director, Academic Advising and Curricular Support. He works closely with the Harris Registration Team in the Academic & Student Affairs Office. He also coordinates the Academic Showcase events, the Math Exam, and the Waiver Exams.

Previously, he worked for the state of Illinois as a member of the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. He worked with high schoolers and middle schoolers to assist them in building a college-going mentality and determining where their passions lie. Later, he worked in the University of Chicago's Office of Financial Aid a Financial Aid Advisor and eventually as an Assistant Director of Financial Aid. He worked with the undergraduate population and processed AmeriCorps funds, Scholarships, and MAP Grant distributions.

Marquis attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign throughout his undergraduate career. He earned a BA in English and minored in History and African American Studies. He has been accepted to a program at the University of Chicago's Crown School and will pursue a master’s in social work.
