From The New York Times June 29, 2017 Brad Plumer and Nadja Popovich University of Chicago postdoctoral scholar Amir Jina finds climate change will affect poorest counties the most in a recent study with Solomon Hsiang of the University of California, Berkeley, Robert Kopp of Rutgers University–New Brunswick, and James Rising, also of UC Berkeley. According to The New York Times article, "If communities do not take preventative measures, the projected increase in heat-related deaths by the end of this century would be roughly equivalent to the number of Americans killed annually in auto accidents."
