Food security has always been an area of interest for Pearl Ranna, 25. As a young farmer, Ranna has witnessed the inequality gap between rural and urban development among youth in the farming sector.

“There is a need and opportunity for young women to be the key influencers and contributors towards solving the global food security issue,” says Ranna. “I hope to change the misconceptions that have led to the inequality and lack of inclusive investment towards both rural and urban women in Agribusiness.”

With an MA in Agriculture and Development from the University of Reading, Ranna used her degree and experience to become the Managing Director of Unitech Farming, promoting agribusiness and working to improve the state of national food security.

“My mission is to create sustainable solutions for Africa in order to achieve zero hunger and no poverty.”
